With their win tonight, the Red Sox were the first team in the Majors to clinch a berth in the post seasons. That's great news. But the real prize is winning the division and they are well on their way to that as well. Go Red Sox!
I think I let the guys on WEEI talk me down from my insistence that they win the division. They rightfully suggest that getting the team set for the playoffs is more important. If they lose the division then win the World Series, not one of us is going to mind.
At least we know their rotation will be rested and lined up properly no matter what happens in the division.
(Wait. Josh Hornik, David Hornik? Who is really writing this Blog?) When you live fifteen minutes from Fenway Park, you can't ignore the Yankee thing, those feelings are deep-rooted. We feel those bad vibes floating down the Charles River, wafting around the Hood blimp, driving toward us on the Mass Pike. Not ever being able to get past this attitude, now that's a curse. Yes, it's very nice to get into the playoffs but now we want to WIN THE DIVISION.
