After seeing Twelfth Night last week in Central Park, Julian decided to write his own score to the Shakespeare masterpiece. Here's his first song to "Come Away" from Twelfth Night.
Spent the afternoon with Julian at Walnut Hill School.
I finally got around to uploading the videos from Noah's second Rock Band Camp. New band. New songs. Noah rocking the drums. Here he is drumming up a storm with his friend Ethan on guitar.
Opening night has come and gone and I know you are all sick of reading about "Caroline, or Change." But I can't help but post links to the Chron and Merc reviews. Both are great reviews, but the Chronicle review is particularly glowing. Along with getting the cheering little man standing on his chair, the Chronicle calls the show "a stunning achievement for Kelley's ambitious company." As for Julian, the Chronicle reviewer writes, "an impressively focused and
pure-toned 12-year-old Julian Hornik is touching as Noah, an 8-year-old
trying to bond with the resistant Caroline after the death of his
mother." Now his impressively focused father gets to drive him to and from another 25 performances or so.
Here's the latest pop song by Julian. I'm sure there will be a music video coming soon.
Julian finished the song "When All Is Said And Done" from his musical version of The Diary of Anne Frank. Here it is.
Julian got a standing ovation after his rendition of "Seasons of Love" at the TheatreWorks benefit.
Julian has been working on a pretty ambitious project since the beginning of the summer. He is writing a musical version of the Diary of Anne Frank. It is a sophisticated and often times painful topic for a musical. But he seems to be approaching it with a lot of care. Here are a couple of short snippets from two of the songs he is working on for the musical.
